RAW Comedy has been uncovering next gen Australian comedians for decades, and now’s your chance to get involved. Registrations for 2026 are open! Whether you’ve been making mates laugh for years, or you’re looking for an opportunity to try something new, the stage is set and waiting!
All you need is five minutes of original comedy material, and to sign up for a heat near you. The best of the bunch will earn a spot at the RAW Comedy National Grand Final during the 2026 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The winner? Receives a trip to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and cements their place in Australian comedy history.
RAW Comedy has marked the start for countless comedy legends, including Aaron Chen, Hannah Gadsby, Ronny Chieng, Anne Edmonds, Bron Lewis, Sam Campbell, and loads more. So many winners, finalists, and alumni have gone on to tour their comedy around the world, write for television and movies, and build massive online followings – and it all started with a sign-up.

Your Visit to BPAC
- Seating: General admission. Participants do not need to purchase a ticket.
- Food & Drink: Snacks and drinks are available to purchase.
- Entrance: Venue entrance is on Neill Street and is accessible entrance is on Neill St. There are two steps to access the stage. Please contact us if you have any specific access requirements.
- Parking: There is plenty of free street parking around the venue – we are in a residential area, so please be mindful of our neighbours: Keep driveways clear and please keep outside noise to a minimum.
- Public Transport: The nearest bus stop is around the corner on Lydiard Street, routes 10 or 13.
