At BPAC, we’re building a stable foundation and brighter future for performing arts in Ballarat. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help.

We’re embarking on a $2 million fundraising appeal to secure our site on Neill St – the new home for many of Ballarat’s performing arts organisations, and a central place to work, collaborate and create for performers and creative workers.

Funds raised from this appeal will allow BPAC to purchase and own this incredible historic site.

This will be accomplished through:

  • This crowdfunding appeal, asking for support from the community and local businesses.
  • Campaigning to local, state and federal governments and philanthropic institutions.
  • Plenty of fundraising concerts, shows and events!

Your contribution (which is tax deductible) will help bring the joy of performing arts to the community, develop our industry to create more local work, plus save and secure an incredible site for future generations to enjoy.

Pledge Information

Help us reach our $2,000,000 target! It’s big, bold and ambitious, but so are we.

And so is our property! With a stunning church, two halls, a cottage and 3000 sq m of land, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Ballarat to have a world-class creative community hub, just minutes from the CBD.

We have four hireable spaces, and an audience capacity of 350, meaning our venue will be viable and sustainable, and a solid foundation from which to grow. Not just for BPAC, but for all of our member organisations and the wider performing arts community.

Throw in the fact that we are preserving and giving new life to a beautiful historic property, and this all adds up to a win-win-win.

Pledge Terms & Conditions

By completing and submitting a pledge form, the donor (“You”) agrees to contribute the pledged amount to Ballarat Performing Arts Community Inc. toward the purchase of the property at the site of the former Neill St Uniting Church – 501-503 Neill St, Soldiers Hill.

This property is currently owned by Uniting Church in Australia, and is being leased by BPAC.

This pledge is a non-binding expression of intent and will not be collected or charged until the full fundraising goal of $2,000,000 is reached.

  • No payments will be called for or processed until the appeal reaches its full goal of $2 million and the property acquisition is confirmed.
  • If the goal is successfully met on or before October 31, 2025, all pledgors will be contacted to confirm their payment details and schedule.
  • If the goal is not reached by October 31, 2025, the appeal will be reviewed and potentially extended.

If you selected credit card as your preferred method, your card will not be charged unless:

  1. The full appeal goal is reached by October 31, 2025, and
  2. You confirm your participation at that time.

Upon submitting this form, you will receive an email confirmation.
Receipts will be issued once a transaction is made.

You may indicate how your name should appear or request anonymity. All recognition materials are subject to organisational review and approval.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. All donor and payment information is stored securely and will only be used to manage your pledge and communicate updates about this campaign.
You will also automatically be added to our general mailing list, but you may unsubscribe at any time.
We will never sell or share your personal information.

Funds raised through this appeal will be used to purchase the historic property at 501-503 Neill St, Soldiers Hill, encompassing a church, two halls and a cottage.
Any funds raised over and above the purchase price will be used to:

  • Continue essential renovations and upgrades.
  • Initiate master-planning for future development.
  • Continue programming and community events at the venue

If the $2 million goal is not met by October 31, 2025, pledgors will be contacted with information about the next stage.
