This May, the Ballarat Choral Society presents a beautiful program of sacred choral music, centred on Requiem (Fauré) — one of the most beloved works in the choral repertoire, known for its gentle focus on peace and eternal rest.
The program also includes Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Mozart’s much-loved Laudate Dominum, and the opening movement of Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine. Together, these works span the rich tradition of sacred choral music, from the early Baroque to the late Romantic period.
Experience the warmth and richness of over 40 voices in performance under the direction of Musical Director Helen Duggan, this uplifting concert offers an afternoon of expressive and moving choral music.
