What happens when Dianna Dynamic, latest model cyborg – out of date by minutes, is dumped at the scrapheap, waiting to be recycled into solar panels? It’s Dianna Deflated, that’s what.  There’s no choice, Dianna Dynamic has to give humanity another go.

Before becoming cyborg, Dianna is ordinary and invisible.  Her super fund is empty, she’s broke and there’s body parts which need replacing.  When given the opportunity to become cyborg, work for The Machine and make huge amounts of money, Dianna grabs it with both hands.  Her role within The Machine is to recruit people to become cyborgs.  She does and becomes extraordinary.  Dianna Dynamic smashes targets like plates and lives the life she always dreamed of.  Life is brilliant until overhears The Machine scheduling her termination because she’s not the latest prototype.  Her dreams turn to dust.  My show questions the seemingly limitless capacity of AI, our urgent willingness to embrace it and how money and efficiency are the arbiter of ethics.  Then there’s the below the surface story; of what happens when a woman breaks free from her self-imposed prison.

Dianna Dynamic, directed by Australian 4 time gold Logie winner, Lisa McCune, received a 4/5 star review at the 2023 Melbourne Fringe Festival, with reviewer Carla Di Maggio describing the production as “a triumph.”
