Main hall

This character-filled and flexible hall suits performances, rehearsals, functions and events.

With a large flat floor and a wide stage, our Main Hall is a popular space for shows & rehearsals of all types, functions, events and more.

It has an accessible entrance at the front and a small green room behind the stage. It is also equipped with a basic lighting & sound system.

It lends itself to being dressed up further for that special event, and is a fantastic choice for performances, with BPAC’s marketing support enabling touring or emerging acts to find new audiences.

Venue Information

Venue:

  • Flat-floor.
  • Wheelchair accessible.
  • Upright piano.
  • Seated capacity of up to 150 patrons.
  • Backstage storage and dressing room available (separate entrance).
  • Toilets outside the building, including accessible.
  • Heating (gas wall heaters).
  • Basic equipment inc. tables, additional chairs & music stands.

Technical:

  • Basic sound system inc. microphone and audio playback.
  • House lights (including fairy lights).

Marketing:

  • Standard support.
  • Duty venue manager (required for any event with public on site).
  • Ticketing and Box Office inc. staffing.
  • FOH Staff (ushers).
  • Tea & coffee station and/or snack bar and/or licensed bar.
  • Basic lighting – FOH bar with 6 LED pars, over-stage bar with 4 LED pars. ELC Mantra lighting desk.
  • Additional lighting/audio/AV equipment available for hire through Mystic Entertainmentz (or another provider).
  • Technical and/or production staffing.
  • Cleaning.
  • Premium Marketing Support.

Toilets, including accessible toilets are located outside the venue.

Plenty of free street parking.

We can provide basic refreshments such as a tea & coffee station, candy bar and/or a licensed bar. Prices vary.

For ticketed events, BPAC will run a standard snack & licensed bar, with profits supporting BPAC.

For more comprehensive catering, external catering options are available. We can assist and provide recommendations on request and our 1861 building has basic kitchen facilities that can be provided for additional fee.

Rate Guide

The table below is a guide only. Please contact BPAC to discuss your needs.

Definitions:
“Dry Hire” – the booking of the space only with basic inclusions (for rehearsals, meetings, etc).
“Private Event” – Attendees/public on site, but no ticketing or advertising.
“Public/Ticketed Event” – Attendees/public on site. Advertised & ticketed.

Community/not-for-profit discounts are available – as a community arts centre, we may be able to work with your budget – please get in touch with us to discuss.

BPAC Members receive a 10% discount on space hire.

Rules:
All hirers must:

  • Read and sign the venue hire agreement and provide proof of public liability insurance.
  • Adhere to our Code of Conduct and relevant policies including our Child Safe Policy.
  • Attend a venue tour prior to booking the space. Please contact us to arrange a time.
